Apple has hired the head of Meta Communications

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg in "Power On" reported that Apple has hired Andrea Schubert as director of communications for the Meta consumer hardware division for XR, including Portal, AR and VR devices. However, Schubert has not yet commented on this news.

Schubert joined Meta (Facebook) in March 2016 to launch the company's Oculus Rift virtual headset. For many years, Schubert was responsible for VR devices at the company, such as Oculus Rift S, Oculus Go, Quest and Quest 2. Hiring Schubert, one of the most experienced XR directors in this field, may indicate that Apple is adjusting its infrastructure before launching the XR product.

At the moment, it's obvious that Apple is preparing its own immersive headsets. In the past, it was reported that the Apple VR headset with augmented reality technology will appear sometime in 2022 at a price of about $ 3,000 and will be equipped with two 8K displays. There has also been talk that Apple is ordering microdisplays with high PPI, suggesting that the headset will have a less bulky body than those using conventional virtual reality displays such as Quest 2.

It's no secret that the company is working on augmented reality optics and publishes the code names of the augmented reality headset, the size of the display and the field of view in subsequent versions of iOS. However, Apple has not yet confirmed any such statements.
